beedee and corbin had been planning a trip to mount st. helens all summer. with lots of busy schedules we didn't make it until a few days before school started but it was the most perfect, clear day to go! we stopped at the visitors center and walked through the museum and watched a movie about the volcano in their theater before heading to the johnston ridge observatory to get a closer look! corbin loves learning about volcanoes but is also a little weary of them since he knows the damage they can do. with some reassurance the mountain won't be exploding he was ready to go explore it! the drive up to the observatory was absolutely beautiful! i wish i wasn't driving so i could have taken a zillion pictures of the scenery.
