night weaning: night two.

last night went so smoothly i'm scared to even write about it in fear that it will jinx me!

corbin went to bed at seven and slept til eleven, which is one hour longer then when he usually wakes up for the first time. i went in and told him no more milk til morning and that it was time to go back to sleep. he cried for less then five minutes and went back to sleep!

he woke up one more time in the night but i dont even know what time it was because he only whined for a second and went back to sleep. he really might not have even been awake!

and then he woke up at six thirty for the day. i really think investing in some black-out curtains will help him sleep in later especially since its going to be getting lighter out earlier in the morning.

im still nursing corbin to sleep and when he wakes up in the morning. we'll slowly work on weaning him from those once he gets the hang of sleeping through the night and decides he finally likes milk that is not from the boob! and as you can see from the pictures i have been making myself a little bed on the floor next to his. i couldn't be more happy about how things are going. im so proud of him getting the hang of things so quickly!

  1. So proud of you for sticking to it! :) it's going to go by fast. He seemed like he was ready.

We have black out curtains from target. Best. Investment. Ever!

  2. go corbin! hey, don't be surprised if one of these nights he seems to completely freak out and act like it's the end of the world. not saying it'll happen... but a friend of mine who majored in childhood development told me once that sometimes kids regress back a little bit. it's just their way of holding on to what was... but if you push through it, it'll be fine. i liked knowing that when it happened to me because knowledge is power!

  4. great job! when we weaned my daughter we replaced the milk with a sippy cup of water by her bed and after a few days she was fine. :) Stick with it!!
